Hejka,

So tomorrow is my last day at work, and the long tradition in our team is to bring goodbye cakes. I thought chocolate has been my theme last month so why not continue it?

It’s been a while since I first brought my homemade chocolates and it’s an easy treat for all those dieting so there is tons already packed – with almonds, hazelnuts, cranberries, coconut etc. But not everyone is dieting (thankfully!) so the right choice to keep with the theme was a brownie. This time – with surprise inside!

Brownie

Ingredients (smaller pan)

  • 7/8 cup of butter
  • 2.5 cup of dark chocolate
  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 glass of sugar
  • vanilla extract (1 tbsp)
  • 3/4 glass of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 tbsp of milk

Put the metal bowl over the pot with hot water and melt the butter. Add 2 cups of dark chocolate (break into pieces before). Enjoy the smell while mixing it until it is completely smooth. Let it chill for a while. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Separate egg whites and yolks. Whip egg whites to perfectly still foam. Later add sugar, then egg yolks, then mix the mixture with egg and butter mix. Add vanilla extract.

foam is fun

When all is mixed into smooth, chocolaty, mind-blowingly smelling mix slowly start adding flour and baking soda. Slowly mix, to make sure there’s not lumps. What I did this time, is adding a „surprise” inside. If you want to add something, pour half of the mix into the pan, then add your surprise. I crushed Reese’s cups and added those, then covered them with the rest of chocolate mixture.

YUM!

Let it bake for around 40 minutes. You can check if the cake is good by poking the middle with the toothpick and checking if it comes out dry (yes, I poke my cakes when they don’t behave right!).

smells soooo gooooooooood!

Now I melted the rest of the chocolate (0.5 cup) in 1 tbsp of milk (just enough to make sure it wont burn) on the smallest heat you can! and poured it all over the cake (I thought it will be enough to make a „drip cake” impression but was enough just to cover the top. Next time!). Added some chocolates on top as a decoration and hid in the fridge 🙂

I will update it with „after” pictures as soon as I remember! It smells amazing!!!!!

Ok now I need to run to the store for something really sour cause the amount of sweetness is killing me haha.

Good luck if you try. It is super simple!

xoxo
